Luisa Lavelle completed a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) in Medicinal Chemistry at Trinity College Dublin in 2020. During her final year, she conducted her undergraduate research project under the supervision of Dr. Carl Poree, focusing on molybdenum-based catalysts for allylic trifluoromethylation.
In 2021, Luisa began her PhD in the group of Professor Larisa Florea at Trinity College Dublin, where she investigated the microfabrication of silver-polymer nanocomposite materials for applications in electronic devices and soft micro-robots. She completed her PhD in June 2025 and is currently working as a research assistant in the Florea group on the development of sensors for the SMARTHEAL implant.
