Trinity College Dublin (TCD) is a leader in the research of advanced biomaterials and nanotechnologies and pioneers work in micro-sensor systems. TCD is home to cutting-edge research centers, such as the Taighde Éireann – Research Ireland Centre for Advanced Materials and BioEngineering (AMBER) and the Trinity Centre for Biomedical Engineering (TCBE).
AMBER is a partnership between leading researchers in materials science and industry. Hosted in TCD, AMBER brings together Ireland's leading material science researchers working across the disciplines of Bioengineering, Chemistry, Immunology, Medicine, Pharmacy and Physics. AMBER researchers have published over 1,450 peer reviewed journal publications to date, many in leading high impact journals.
TCBE is a key research centre in TCD combining fundamental research with translation to clinical practice. It provides a space for scientists and engineers to collaborate on creating next-generation minimally invasive medical devices.
