Bruce Murphy is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical, Manufacturing and Biomedical Engineering in Trinity College Dublin, Deputy Director of the Trinity Centre for Biomedical Engineering (TCBE), and Principal Investigator in the TCBE and AMBER Centre. He is a recognised expert in minimally invasive surgical devices with strong background in translating research into clinical ready products. He runs one of the most successful medical device design incubator labs in the world. His laboratory has spun-out a number of companies, including Plio Surgical. His laboratory is not only involved in translational biomedical engineering, he has published in many top journals in space, including the the top journal in the field, Nature Biomedical Engineering.
Within the SMARTHEAL project, Bruce will act as the Innovation Manager.
